Pig bag added funk into the  post punk mix, taking the DIY Attitude and injected a large dose of groove. The  built on the back of what "the slits" had done,  produced a song the indie kids were happy to dance to.

With teen angst which can still make me feel like I am 15 mixed with hip hop, and punk. This band from the middle of England, came out of nowhere with their mixture of everything form cartoons to Opera.





This song has all  of the isolation of a small town, mixed with the  the weariness of a big city. This is one for you collection.

Where do you start with Leonard Cohen ? Cohen is one of the best song writters of the 20th century, his songs made famous by a host of covers. But all to often his versons are forgotten.

This is one of his finest moment. from an album about the dark side of love songs & dedications.

Paint_the_silence

South took over where the Stone Roses left off, fusing the rock melodies with a beat you can dance to. this song got the indie shaking more than their heads. Triffids-sandy

It's funny how this the most Australian sounding song,  the triffids ever produced, was written and recorded in England.  here was a band trying to make sense of the mayhem of the crowds of  London

This song is vast, with space around every note, but also deeply personal,  This is a song which is longing for home, by a band who was desperately homesick.

this song always finds me when I too am longing for home.

As a long gone Australian TV presenter used to say " do ya self a favour "
