Mansun often get get lost in the wash of brit-pop. but really they were so much more that a 3 min pop song about a pub in london. Six was their second outing, which was like their first album, self produced. and it is this forsite as a young band which allowed them to turn the recording studio in to a instrument. Being a girl, the first sign off the album is a perfect piece of pop
For the first time, a song could be 10 mins long and have you on a razor's edge the whole way. the guitar lines dive between each other, before pulling in different directions, So many of todays bands own more than a debt to Televsion.

Peter Gabriel's Duet with Kate Bush "Don't Give Up" is comfort food, A walm blanket on a rainy day in your mind. Let the synths tuck you up safe in your bed, and make it all ok. The only bad part of this song is that Peter had to leave Genisis to make this album, thus pushing Phill Collins off the drum Riser and on the the worlds stage.... but thankfull this song is good enough to make up for that.

In 1992 Ride released their sophmore album " Going Blank Again", who's opening The opening track " Leave them all behind, changed my teenage world, For the first time something could be both violent, and beatuiful soft. This was the perfect pop of The Byrds, twisted, distored and turned up to 10, Here was something new something which had taken from the past but can out of nowhere. This was exciting.
